STEPHIE'S BEADS AND BAUBLES

I am doing a fun and interesting challenge this year.

My husband asked if next year we could have a blue and white tree. Green tree, just blue and white ornaments. We added silver , but no gold at his request, and a challenge for myself was born !!! I need to make at least 2 beaded ands sequined blue, silver, and white ornaments a week to complete this challenge. I am excited about it, and already have my first five done. I am about to start number six, and I am going to share it all in this post !!!!

First I created a nice size, chinet platter of mixed blue, white and silver sequins. I plan to do a lot of stacked sequins and having this mix all together really helps. I have a baggie of just blues and a baggie of just whites mixed for the ones I make that I need to seperate, like the stocking pictured in this post.

In addition, I went through my extensive collection of blue seed beads and sequins and filled a flat with single colors of both,for the ornaments that will not be stacked.

I got all the materials together for this specific ornament and here they are. It will be a Christmas light, stacked silver for the part you would screw in, and various shades of blue for the actual light. Not sure if I will stay with a specific shade, or just do all blues , or do blues and whites. Third option is blues, white and silver. I will see how I feel when I get started and will share that here.

I am very excited to see how this one comes out. I am pretty happy with this challenge, I love blue at Christmas and it will be fun to see how I can come up with 100 different blue ornaments.

Some will use the same cookie cutters, there will be numerous trees, several stockings, mittons, and snow flakes, along with striped ornaments, but then many unique and individual ones as well !!!

So, today I will start the next one, and I will do a blog showing the steps as well as a YouTube video and a short on TikTok, and will share links here as I get the videos up.

It is going to be a really fun challenge, and I am excited to see what other ideas I come up with. I have a shoe box of cookie cutters set aside for this challenge, but will probably draw some original ones out as well on stencils.

If you look at the upper left of the picture, those are just some of the cookie cutters I have that I seperated into different holidays or categories.

I have over a thousand cookie cutters as this is a life long collection. I plan to make a wall of cookie cutters in a hallway to the back yard , next to the kitchen once we move later this year. Thin board with small nails. I can change them out seasonally or just as I feel like it. It will give me a lot of area to cover, so I am excited about that !!! I look forward to sharing that when I get it done !!! I hate having them all in boxes and in two big file cabinet drawers. That will not be until later this year, probably moving into that house around June or July. j
